Houser Family Bio

Calvin and Mindy graduated from Crown College in Knoxville, Tennessee with a heart for ministry. Immediately upon graduation, they assisted for several months with a church plant in Wooster, Ohio. Calvin then took an assistant pastorate position at Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland, Ohio, where they served for about four years.
Through Scripture, the lives of others, and divine desire, God began to burden Calvin and Mindy’s hearts for the “fatherless” of this world. They became licensed foster parents and began the process of an international adoption. They are now awaiting the day they can travel to bring their little girl from Africa home.
During this time, the Lord birthed a dream in their hearts for church planting and orphan care on a foreign field. They knew that these two ministries could work hand-in-hand, thus fulfilling the responsibility given to the church in James 1:27. Soon after their surrender to missions, a door of opportunity was opened wide to the Philippines.
Currently, they are working alongside missionaries, Carl and Michelle Gormely, in the Philippines. In partnership with a local body of believers, Calvary Baptist Church of San Jose del Monte, they are working together to start Bahay Sibol, a children’s home for orphaned and abandoned children. Calvin and Mindy are also simultaneously working in an area called Greater Lagro to begin the City Baptist Church. They are holding opening meetings at this time and have seen people come to Christ. Pray for there outreach efforts in this community and the nearby universities.
